Byfords Food Hall is a family run business established for over 49 years.
We have become one of Britain's Best Butchers consistently winning National and International awards for homemade products
Winners of the British Champions Cup at an International Food Fayre.
Awarded more medals 3 years later in Holland winning more than any other British Butcher.
The same year Presented with 7 awards by Minister of Food Mrs Angela Browning MP.
1995 Winners of National Enterprise Award.
1996 judged the Best Butcher in the East of England.
That same year finalists in Champions of Champions competition for our sausages.
Gold Medal winners for our Dry Cured Bacon at the Great Taste Awards.
1999 runners up to Asda as Meat Retailer of the Year.
That same year we were awarded the Virgin Prize for Customer Care, winning a holiday in New York.
2005 was another busy year winning Turkey Retailer of the Year and Best Speciality Product for our Baked Unsmoked Ham.
2010 Three Gold's at the Great Taste Awards in London.
Voted Best Independent Shop by Listeners of Radio Southend FM.
2011 Winners of 5 Gold's at the Smithfield Awards presented by celebrity chef and TV presenter Ainsley Harriott. Also top Shop Finalist.
2016 First Prize Winners of £1000 for Fresh Produce Display.
At the National Meat Products Competition we were presented with 5 Gold Awards by National President of the Meat Traders Federation.
So over the past 25 years we have gained over 100 awards for products and our customer service.
We will always go out of our way to meet our customers individual requirments.
2017 Won 8 Golds at the National BBQ Competition Wednesday 15th March at the Windmill Hill Hotel, Coventry.
Pork and Mustard sausages scored 100 out of 100
Celebration Pork sausages scored 99 out of 100
The other Golds are for:
Hog Roast sausages (new recipe launched 2016)
The homemade burgers also did well with Steak burgers and Pork and Apple burgers recieving Gold.
The Kofta Kebab made from spicy minced lamb also won Gold
More than 70 butchers attended from across the UK from as far a field as County Armagh and the West Country.
Robert Byford was delighted for butchers Matthew and Michael who worked very hard to make top quality products.
